This book is written by Abebe Bulto and edited by Temesgen H. Beriso and Andrew Tadross. This is the 2021 edition of the book. I had the previous edition of this but left it in Ethiopia when I moved away, but they seem similar from what I remember.
This is probably the most readily accessible books for someone who is looking into learning afaan Oromoo, as it continues to be available on Amazon. The first 84 pages or so are basic grammatical explanations (mostly of verbs and different conjugations). After that it becomes mostly a set of topical vocabulary lists, with an occasional list being devoted to phrases.
Overall, it is a very nice book, but it would not be suitable as someone’s main guide for learning the language. It is a nice support and basic reference guide for anyone interested in learning the language.
The rest of this week will be devoted to going through different points of the book. Mostly this will be expanding on a topic that is introduced but which I think should have more dedicated space, or by rephrasing and reintroducing a topic or concern that I do not think is inline with the majority of afaan Oromoo linguistic sources currently available.
