Boontuu fi Hoolaa Ishee by Maaykil Daani’eel Ambaachew

This is a cute little book about a girl and her friendship with a sheep. Of course the sheep is not originally supposed to be a pet, but through mischief the girl is able to save the sheep. I enjoyed the read but there were no new words or different situations for me to encounter here.

I did run across the classic line Haata’u malee Boontuun gorsa kana hin dhageenye meaning that “But Bontu did not listen to this advice.” There wasn’t a ton of linguistic information that I was looking for, but a way of using reported speech did come up and that will probably be the topic that I focus on for that.

Overall, an enjoyable but short read that had some humor and this was fun to look at.
